Hi,

I have read the threads about FCK problems, and we all know it doesn't work with Safari. So I use Firefox to edit pages. No problem on my wife's iBook, FCK and HTMLArea work fine, I prefer FCK, though.

Now a customer complained "Doesn't work!". So I had a look at it, and sure enough using her Powerbook, it didn't work ...
When choosing a page to edit it, FCKEditor with all buttons shows up as usual. But the editing window stays blank. No error message, just a blank non-editable window. No reactions when clicking the buttons. We waited a while in case it just takes time for FCK to load -- nothing.
HTMLArea under the same conditions works fine. Since it all works on another Mac, it must be a special setting on the client's Mac or her Firefox.

FF V.2, FCK V.2.8, WB 2.6.7

Any ideas appreciated.

Cheers, Ralf.

Hello,

FCKEditor is a third party product. We only include it in Wb without making changes on the corefiles of FCKEditor. So if FCKEditor didn't work in special enviroments, please ask for help at the FCKEditor forum.

http://www.fckeditor.net/

Thanks

Matthias

Maybe javascript is disabled?

I work on two Macs with the same setting as you describe and I have no problem. Must be the users own configuration.

Thanks for your replies, ruebenwurzel and macsmet.

I believe that if javascript was disabled, the editor would not show up at all. And HTMLArea wouldn't work either.

Meanwhile I posted the same question on the FCKEditor forum. If I get an answer there, I'll let you know.

Cheers, Ralf.

If I were you I would make a new user account on that Mac and test it again.
In the new account it will probably work!
